Rifampicin 75 mg, INH 50 mg, pyrazinamide 150 mg
Indications/Uses
1st treatment of TB in childn caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
20-32 kg 4 tab daily as single dose, 15-19 kg 3 tab daily as single dose, 10-14 kg 2 tab daily as single dose, 5-9 kg 1 tab daily as single dose.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to rifampicin, INH, pyrazinamide. Acute hepatic disease, icterus, or severe hepatic dysfunction, acute gout; patients that used voriconazole or other HIV PIs.
Special Precautions
Avoid use in patients w/ symptoms of hepatic dysfunction due to risk of hepatotoxicity. Perform hepatic function test especially ALT & AST prior to & periodically during therapy.
Adverse Reactions
Reddish-orange change in body fluids, neurotoxicity, hepatotoxicity, psychological & GI disorder, urinary tract & renal disorder, nutrition & metabolic disorder, general disorder, blood & lymphatic system disorder, respiratory, chest & chest wall disorder, musculoskeletal disorder, skin & subcutaneous tissue disorder, eye disorder, reproduction system & nursing mother disorder.
Drug Interactions
Antiretroviral & antiepileptic drug, immunosuppressant, coumarin derivatives.
